Armidale Domestic and Family Violence Steering Committee

May is Domestic and Family Violence
Awareness month.

The Armidale Domestic and Family Violence Steering Committee (DVFSC) are asking the Armidale Community to raise awareness of Domestic and Family Violence by wearing the colour purple, or by being creative and using the colour purple in a way that is symbolic of remembering women and children who have lost their lives to Domestic and Family Violence.

Domestic and Family Violence is a community issue and requires a community response. We are asking the community to assist us in taking a stance and saying “no” to domestic violence by:

  • Raising awareness in the community of the devastating impacts of domestic and family violence.
  • Reinforcing positive behaviours and social norms within the community.
  • Promoting happier and healthier communities.

We look forward to coming together as a community to reduce the devastating impacts that Domestic and Family Violence have on the community.

If you’ve had some great ideas about how you can promote positive ways of addressing Domestic and Family Violence, we would love to see photos of your creativity.  These can be emailed to: dfv2350@gmail.com and may be posted on the Armidale Domestic and Family Violence Steering Committee’s Facebook page.
